Saturday, August 2, 2008 – August is Marching On

Today was such a full day.  I learned that I cannot blend normal food to a smooth enough consistency to eat through a straw.  So I am sticking to smoothies, mashed potatoes, cream of wheat and tapioca.  My Mom would always feed us pastina when we were sick.  I can get that down, but the little stars get stuck in the most uncomfortably inaccessible areas of my mouth so goodbye to that.  I bought meat baby food.  One must have protein, and I will leave that notion at that!

My big activity of the day was accompanying Denny to the supermarket to get more supplies.  We went to the “small” Safeway up the road, and early in the day, and that was more than enough for me.  And I was going to go back to work this Monday?  Right.  My other big thing today was making some tomato sauce from about 12 tomatoes we managed to harvest from under the nose of our friend the squirrel.  I strained some into my mashed potatoes and it worked out well for me.  Denny had colored rolotini pasta and enjoyed his meal.

Well, that’s it for today.  I am tuckered out. Till tomorrow!
